AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also is captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 until 2020, she captained the American women's national soccer team, along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early years. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 when she was picked to play for the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where they finished in second place. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan also assisted in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
