Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12 1988[1,] is a Canadian actor and singer from Canada. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to take home Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in 2005. O'Neil is an actress who is famous for her performances on Syfy's science-fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was well-known for her role in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. She was voted as being in the bottom two or three finals. After being stunned, judges recommended that viewers vote Melissa as the most enthusiastic contestant. O'Neil's performances were constantly praised and O'Neil was not relegated to the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, called O'Neil "a chance to win it all". On September 7, 2005 O'Neil made it to the final two of the competition, alongside Rex Goudie, and after another stunning performance the judge Werner famously said that the headlines in the next day's newspapers would be "The King, Kalan Porter has passed away Long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand finale results show, September 14, 2005. She also was crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
